The biggest difference between the two types of communities comes when a resident requires health care services. A rental community may offer some care (though not all do), but the higher levels of care could be full when a resident needs to transition. If the level of care is full or the community does not offer care, a resident will have to relocate to a new community — adding stress when they most need support.
