Visitor Restrictions
A letter from Executive Director Laurie Stallings to residents and families regarding new safety measures enacted by Governor Roy Cooper.
Dear Residents and Families,
Late yesterday evening, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper made an announcement regarding proactive measures enacted to protect the health of our state against the growing cases of COVID-19 virus. With the NC DHHS, one of those actions is that all facilities that serve as residential establishments for high risk persons should restrict visitors. To this end, we will be restricting ALL visitors to Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, and Memory Care areas, to include family members and IL residents. Special exceptions are made for end of life or other emergent situations which may necessitate a visit under the direction of nursing administrators.
Additionally, we are asking IL residents to adhere to the Governor’s recommendations by limiting non-essential visitors from coming to Cypress Glen. This includes social functions, parties, and gaming activities with non-residents. Visitors to campus will continue to use the front entrance only and will be screened at each visit and expected to follow protocols established to ensure the wellbeing of our residents and staff members. We also remind you to practice social distancing even on campus and always be diligent in handwashing.
As stated by the NC DHHS, these measures are most effective when implemented early. We are at a critical point where we may have the opportunity to slow the spread of this epidemic by taking proactive steps now. These restrictions and provisional policies are for the safety of everyone and I thank you for adhering to them during this time. Should you wish to speak with me directly, please call me (252) 830-7063.
Most sincerely,
Laurie H. Stallings
Executive Director
