With a can-do attitude and a sunny approach to services, we strive to provide a culture where residents feel known, appreciated, and supported.
Whether they are out exploring Eastern North Carolina or enjoying the wide assortment of activities on our 95-acre campus, Independent Living residents will have a comfortable cottage or apartment waiting for them and friendly neighbors ready to share a meal or a drink in the pub, if they wish. And this sense of comfort and security extends even further. Independent Living residents at a Life Plan/Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) like Cypress Glen enjoy an active and enriching lifestyle while they are still healthy, and, unlike typical Independent Living communities, they have priority access to a full continuum of care if their health needs ever change.

Future Resident Program
As you consider a move to Independent Living, there may be many questions and what-ifs still lingering in your mind. By becoming involved in our Future Resident Program, you can begin to feel confident about your plans for the future.
For those wanting an active future with the security of support when needed, Cypress Glen offers a Future Resident Program.
The waitlist is for older adults who wish to be Future Residents at Cypress Glen. A Future Resident Agreement, which allows for two different residence styles, is submitted along with a residency application and the appropriate application fee ($250 single and $350 couple). The Future Resident deposit is $1,000 per person and is applied to the 10% deposit paid at the time the buyer’s agreement is signed.
In addition to the satisfaction of knowing your retirement plan is in place, the Future Resident Program also affords added benefits. The program provides full use of our beautiful Wellness Center and its many programs and classes. The Cypress Chatter newsletter containing information, activity calendar, and menus is sent monthly. Future residents are encouraged to attend on-campus events or experience off-campus travel to a cultural performance. Families taking advantage of the Future Resident Program are also invited to eat meals at Cypress Glen at the same cost as current residents.

Can residents bring their own furniture?
Absolutely, your residence is yours to make your own. Almost all residents bring along treasured furniture and belongings. Some seniors take advantage of the move to Independent Living to make a fresh start with all new pieces.
May residents bring cars?
Most people who drive do, but with all the transportation options available as part of our service, a car is not strictly necessary. Many couples who move together find they prefer to keep one car instead of two, but reserved parking spaces are provided for each resident vehicle.
What services are included in the monthly fee?
The monthly fee includes weekly housekeeping; preventive maintenance; basic utilities; resident’s choice of several meal plan options; and access to common areas, including the fitness center.
What does an entrance payment cover?
The entrance payment ensures access to higher levels of on-campus senior care. Any future health changes will be significantly less stressful, knowing that expert support is at their fingertips.
